“Dare to Be A Daniel”

“Dare to Be A Daniel”

We’re in the Book of Daniel

As we enter a New Year, I would like to talk about and explore this incredible book on Wednesday nights with you.

The book of Daniel covers many important subjects including an overview of world history dating back to the kingdom of Nebuchadnezzar on through Rome and Greece and the various empires that have risen and fallen and concluding with the emergence of the Antichrist and his new world order that is yet in our future. The book of Daniel tells us about the devil and his tactics. It also tells us about the work of angels in the life of the believer. Their behind the scenes activity on our behalf.

And at least half of the prophecies foreshadowed in this book have literally taken place just as specified some 2500 years ago. And that gives us great hope for the remaining prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled that God will keep His word. When God speaks of the future, you can take it to the bank. This is not reading some tabloid psychic making their predictions for the coming year. This is the sure word of God who reads the future as accurately as we read the past. Even more so. Because in these days we even rewrite history. I think they call it revisionism where we change the facts around to fit what we feel at the moment. But God speaks of the future with 100% accuracy. We will read the past, which was the future when it was given in Daniel and then we will also read of what is still ahead.

The book of Daniel declares to us that Jesus Christ will come again to the earth and establish His kingdom. Also in this book we will read some of the greatest stories to be found anywhere in the Bible including Daniel and the lion’s den and this wonderful story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego who were thrown into the fiery furnace because of their unwillingness to bow before the golden image. So many practical images that will challenge us to live godly lives.

The book of Daniel will show us that it is possible to walk and indeed flourish spiritually in spite of the peer pressure that is around you and the temptations that you face. This book gives hope for the future. It reminds us that Jesus Christ will indeed come and establish His kingdom and it shows us the importance of standing up for what we believe.

It’s a very prophetic book. In fact, in many ways it is like the Revelation of the Old Testament. To really understand the book of Revelation one has to grasp what the book of Daniel says. So we will look at it in the weeks ahead on Wednesday nights at 6:00pm.

I pray for you and am thankful for you. And I encourage you, Dare to be a Daniel.

In His love and grace,

Pastor Jeff
