John 1:1-5 “Christ Before Christmas”

John 1:1-5 “Christ Before Christmas”

At the incarnation, Christ clothed Himself in humanity. But He didn’t come into existence. He existed long before.

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2)

John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

When the beginning began, the Word was already there. In fact, the Bible says that everything was made by and through Jesus Christ (John 1:3). Yet this all-powerful God chose to come in the form of a baby; He became identical with us, yet maintained His identity. And that is the beauty of Christmas.

Christmas should not be the source of our joy; Christ should be the source of our joy.  May you find hope, joy and peace this Christmas season!  Adore Him together with us or at your favorite worship gathering.

Blessings, Pastor Jeff
