What We Are About
Calvary Chapel Glenwood Springs is a fellowship of believers who desire to know Jesus more deeply, live by the power of the Holy Spirit, and make God known to others.
Our focus is intentionally simple—Simply Jesus.
We believe real life-change flows from a growing relationship with Christ, not religious activity. Our desire is to impact people with the outrageous, life-changing grace of Jesus Christ, one life at a time.
Pastor Jeff Christianson
Pastor Jeff was called to Glenwood Springs in 2010. His calling is that of a ministering servant, committed to teaching the Bible chapter by chapter and verse by verse, trusting the Holy Spirit to apply God’s Word to God’s people.
Jeff is married to his wife, Jennifer, who loves the Lord and faithfully serves her family. Together, they seek to live simply, serve humbly, and exalt Christ in all things.

Our Guiding Scripture
“Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.”
(Colossians 1:28, NKJV)
We exist to know Jesus, live in Christ Jesus, and make Him known to a lost and dying world. That calling requires spiritual maturity.
Our Vision: Spiritual Maturity in Christ
Spiritual maturity is one of the heavenly blessings that is ours in Christ Jesus. Our Father desires that His children grow and mature, not remain spiritual infants.
“…that we may present every man perfect [mature] in Christ Jesus.”
(Colossians 1:28, NKJV)
As God’s people are built up, the goal is:
“That we all come…to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ… but… may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ.”
(Ephesians 4:13–15, NKJV)
Jesus Himself is our standard of maturity. God’s desire is that we increasingly reflect the character, humility, and love of Christ.
Why We Proclaim Christ
Spiritual maturity requires the proclamation of Christ.
“Him we preach…”
(Colossians 1:28, NKJV)
Truth about Jesus Christ is what matures the people of God. We must know who He is, what He has done, and what He desires to do in our lives, that we might trust Him as our source of growth.
“…from whom all the body… grows with the increase that is from God.”
(Colossians 2:19, NKJV)
Christ is not only the foundation of our faith—He is the ongoing source of our life, growth, and fruitfulness.
The Calvary Chapel Movement
The Calvary Chapel family of churches began during the Jesus People Movement of Southern California.
In 1965, Pastor Chuck Smith began pastoring Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa with a small group of people. From the beginning, he welcomed all—young and old—without judgment, placing a strong emphasis on the simple, expositional teaching of God’s Word.
With a sincere concern for the lost, Chuck and Kay Smith opened both the church and their home to a generation of hippies and surfers. What followed was a powerful movement of the Holy Spirit that spread across the United States and eventually throughout the world.
Today, Calvary Chapel fellowships exist globally—united by a shared commitment to teaching the Bible verse by verse, dependence on the Holy Spirit, and a simple trust in Jesus Christ.
Calvary Chapel Association (CCA)
Calvary Chapel Glenwood Springs serves the Lord in cooperation with and alignment under the Calvary Chapel Association.
The Lord has graciously used Calvary Chapel churches and missions around the world through a shared commitment to sound doctrine, biblical exposition, servant leadership, and Spirit-led ministry.
How Calvary Chapel Glenwood Springs Began
In 2010, a small group of Bible college students stepped out in faith to share Christ in the Roaring Fork Valley. From that beginning, Calvary Chapel Glenwood Springs was born.
Church planting is much like raising a child—beginning with prayer and vision, followed by commitment, birth, nurturing, and growth. Each season requires patience, grace, and faithfulness.
We are committed to building a healthy, unified church family. Unity is not uniformity—it is the work of the Holy Spirit.
“Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
(Ephesians 4:3, NKJV)
The same Lord who dwells in one believer dwells in all believers, and the Spirit of God faithfully works unity as we set aside personal preferences and walk in love.
How Calvary Chapel Glenwood Springs Is Supported
Calvary Glenwood Springs is supported through the faithful contributions of local members of our church family.
We are a small fellowship with generous hearts. If Calvary is your home church, we trust the Lord to provide for this work through His people. We are deeply grateful for God’s faithful provision, which allows us to continue sharing His truth and making disciples in this mountain region.
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 4:19, NKJV)
